What do I do if the passport shows that the equine is ‘Excluded’ from the food chain but the National ChipChecker says its status is ‘Included’ or ‘Unknown’?

What to do if you have conflicting food chain status on your physical equine passport compared to what is shown on the National Chipchecker

If you are the owner, you should contact the issuing Passport Issuing Organisation (PIO) immediately to tell them that the equine is ‘Excluded’ from the food chain.

If you are comparing the records held on the Free National ChipChecker with the records in the paper passport (for example if you are interested in buying an equine), you should check the other information and make a judgement on whether the paper documents are just inaccurate and/or out-of-date, or are forged or counterfeit.
